Having a Peace in Fast Paced World
Searching for peace in this fast-paced modern world can be challenging. But once you find your peace, it can be a home for you to come back to whenever you need it. Many people nowadays like to chase the things that would make them happy but neglect what could be the little things that they have every day, such as realizing that every time you wake up from your bed, you are given by God a chance to live a life for you to be grateful that you have another day in life.
Not everything in this world must be chased after. I know that things are important for us to keep living, such as money, but in my opinion, a life is not just about making some money. A grateful and meaningful life is also important for us. Starting by being grateful for being alive and still breathing fresh air is a miracle that God has given to us. Every time we wanted to go to sleep, we could not predict if we would still live tomorrow morning. Appreciating the small things in life keeps us from rushing to achieve something uncertain.
I’ve been living a life in a “matrix,” and overtime, it made me feel like I was living a miserable, unmeaningful life that I wanted. A life that made me rush everything and forget that I was alive. I know that sounds ironic, but thats what I feel until I read some articles about the meaning of life and what we really want in life. A life of prestige, full of competition, and forgetting what is essential in our daily lives has become something I only realized when I started reading books. Envy of other people’s achievements or simply comparing yourself to others and thinking that you are way above them makes my life seem directionless. I don’t seem to have that stance of living by what I want.
From that, I learned that to live, we don’t need to jump into a rush of ‘fish’ in a river who are chasing things such as prestigious things. I learned that we must have a purpose in life and not be affected by others. By doing so, you can live the life you want. You may wonder, What makes that correlate to a peace and meaningful life? By having a stance and no prestige, you could be the person you want. Ignoring what others say about you and enjoying the life you live right now is the key to having a peaceful and meaningful life.
